Andrew Ky Haynes - Director

Leading the charge at Haynes Benefits is Andy Haynes. Andy has a lifelong interest in health and mental health issues and continues those interests in his practice. He has been practicing health benefits law for over 30 years, and has the experience and expertise to provide innovative solutions for complying with Health Care Reform. As a known national authority on health benefits, Andy has led hundreds of webinars and media events regarding Health Care Reform to various private and public sector audiences.

Andy works regularly with insurer, plan and service provider clients in health benefits matters, including plan design and implementation, documentation, tax qualification and risk management.

Andy is the current author of two books published by EBIA, HIPAA Portability, Privacy and Security and Group Health Plans: Federal Mandates Other Than COBRA & HIPAA.

Known as the "Singing Benefits Lawyer", Andy’s seminars combine his passion for benefits law and music in a unique manner creating informative and entertaining seminars. Andy has over 1500 hours as a lecturer with Employee Benefits Institute of America (EBIA) and is involved in other prominent employee benefits organizations, teaching in 10 to 15 cities each year.

Andy received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his law degree from Emory University School of Law, where he was Research Editor of the Emory Law Journal. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas and is active in the Missouri Bar, having served a three-year term as chairperson of the Employee Benefits Committee and a six-year term as chairperson of the Department of Insurance Liaison Committee.

An active member of the community, Andy and his family reside in Blue Springs, Missouri. He is an active musician in his church band and the occasional gig. He also enjoys woodworking and the outdoors. He is active with local PBS and NPR stations, where he serves as an on-air personality.
