Staff Bios


Mary Honore Tucker - Attorney

Mary joins the firm after gaining over 14 years of experience in law firm practice, higher education teaching, and administration. 


Mary received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Tulane University, a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, and a Juris Doctorate and Bachelors of Civil Law Studies from Louisiana State University.  After law school, she clerked for Chief Judge Ralph Tyson in the Middle District of Louisiana. 


Mary’s practice experience includes civil litigation at a boutique firm in New Orleans where she handled cases for a local municipality and a Fortune 100 company.  She also practiced at a large general litigation firm in Baton Rouge where she worked in the higher education institution section assisting with employment discrimination and employment law issues. 


Her practice is focused on employee benefits, including health care reform, health and welfare plans, HIPAA, data privacy & security, and ERISA compliance.  She also provides employment law counseling and compliance advice.


Mary brings a wealth of experience teaching and working in higher education, with an understanding of university structure and governance.  She spent time at both the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville and the University of Memphis teaching legal courses and working in an administrative capacity on both campuses.  She served as a hearing officer assisting with the disposition of faculty and employee matters, and was also a Title IX hearing officer.  Mary still serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.


Mary is an active member of the State Bar of Texas.  Mary is perfecting her practice of choosing, cooking, and eating good food.  She also enjoys traveling, reading, and yoga.  Her favorite way to experience her hobbies is with her husband and two children.
