Andrew Ky Haynes Honored as Fellow by the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel

The singing benefits lawyer’s career soundtrack now includes an induction into the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel’s elite list of attorneys.

Haynes, Director of Haynes Benefits PC, in Lee’s Summit, was recently honored as a Fellow by the ACEBC, one of 12 given that distinction by the group at its annual dinner recently in San Francisco, California.

With 30 years of practice, Haynes is well versed on health benefit law and is known as a national authority on healthcare and benefits. He’s led hundreds of seminars, webinars and media events on health care reform.

“The ACEBC is an elite organization, comprised of the best employee benefits attorneys in the nation,” Haynes said. “I am delighted and honored to be selected as a Fellow and look forward to my continued involvement.”

Induction as a Fellow in the ACEBC is a national distinction. According to the organization, each nominee is required to have focused on employee benefits law for at least 20 years and have “demonstrated a sustained commitment to public awareness and understanding of benefits laws through such activities as writing, speaking, public policy analysis, public education or public service.”

Nominees are also required to have provided exceptional professional services to clients, the bar and the public. This year’s inductees join over 400 current Fellows in the organization. Along with Haynes, there are only three other Kansas City-area Fellows, one being co-worker Thomas Graves, Senior Counsel at Haynes Benefits PC.

An author of two books on employee benefits, Haynes consistently works with insurers, planners and service providers on designs and implementations.

A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia and the Emory University School of Law, Haynes is also well versed in singing – literally. Known as the “singing benefits lawyer,” his classes routinely pair his passion for benefits law with his musical musings to create a unique atmosphere.

Haynes and his family reside in Blue Springs.
